Having practiced as environmental lawyers with real estate and land use experience for over 30 years, Wire Gill LLP partners Jim Thornhill and John Lain have seen the creation of the innocent purchaser defense, the origins of Phase I environmental site assessments, the issuance of U.S. EPA underground storage tank rules in the late 1980’s, numerous revisions to the wetlands rules, including the multi-year Water of the United States saga, the rise of renewable energy permitting and the creation of environmental attributes markets .
